Ukraine-Slovenia Business Forum Is Held in Kyiv

On Tuesday, 12 February 2019, the Ukraine-Slovenia Business Forum took place in Kyiv. Its programme included a plenary session, which highlighted the immediate prospects and priority areas of bilateral economic cooperation, the conditions for doing business in Ukraine and Slovenia, the experience of integrating the Slovenian economy into a single EU market, the business climate and investment opportunities of Slovenia, as well as other relevant issues.

Besides, the B2B negotiations of business representatives from Ukraine and Slovenia were held. The priority areas of the Ukraine-Slovenia business cooperation include tourism, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, construction, alternative energy, energy efficiency and energy conservation, waste recycling, wastewater treatment and disposal, wood processing, and logistics.

Participation in the business forum allowed representatives of the Ukrainian business to establish direct business contacts, develop mutually beneficial cooperation ties, obtain up-to-date information about the situation in the Slovenian markets of interest, and learn about Slovenia’s access to EU markets.

It should be noted that the main export items from Ukraine to Slovenia are wood and woodware, lead and plumbery, railway locomotives, furniture, products of inorganic chemistry, edible fruit and nuts, electrical machines, products from ferrous metals. The main import articles from Slovenia to Ukraine are pharmaceutical products, nuclear reactors, boilers, electrical machines, food products, paper and cardboard, plastics and polymeric materials.
