Tomaž Fartek Receives the Title of the Best Slovenian Bartender for the Second Year in a Row
The 27th National Cocktail Championship ended in the city of Rimsk-Toplice. 12 professional bartenders competed in the category of cocktail-aperitifs.
Same as a year ago, Tomaž Fartek again won the title of national champion. He prepared an original cocktail of gin, vermouth, orange liqueur and freshly squeezed lemon juice. To decorate the glass, the winner used orange peel and lime oil essence. “A dry to taste cocktail of pleasant green colour,” the President of the Slovenian Association of Bartenders Aleš Ogrin characterized the drink.
The second place was awarded to Anže Šmit from Velenje, the third—to Jožef Fartek. Awards for professionalism were presented to Mira Hot from Ljubljana.
In October this year, Tomaž Fartek will participate in the World Championship, which will be held in Estonia.
It is worth noting that a student from the Higher School of Viticulture and Winemaking of the University of Nova Gorica, Vanessa Klinec, has recently won a silver award at the international contest of young tasters Paris Agricultural Show, losing in the struggle for primacy only to a student from France.
Such achievements for Slovenia, a country famous for its developed tourism industry and mastery of winemaking, are natural. To manufacture and supply the high-quality wines, the best specialists are working here, who once graduated from the industry-related faculties of the leading educational institutions of the country.
