The TRISAT Satellite Assembled at the Laboratory of the University of Maribor Is Ready to Travel into Space
The employees of the Laboratory of Electronics and Information Systems at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics of the University of Maribor and researchers from SkyLabs d.о.о. successfully completed the assembly and testing of the TRISAT satellite in a sterile room on the SkyLabs NanoSky I platform. The satellite was then delivered to Delft, the Netherlands, where the TRISAT team integrated it into a protected launch vehicle in a sterile room of the Dutch company Innovative Solutions In Space. The installation works in the Netherlands were organised by the Italian company SAB Launch Services, which, after signing a contract with the University of Maribor, is responsible for the launching of the TRISAT satellite.
The TRISAT team received commendable reviews from Innovative Solutions In Space regarding the quality of satellite preparation and assembly.
It is assumed that on 9 September 2019, the TRISAT satellite on the VEGA launch vehicle will be launched into a sun-synchronous orbit to an altitude of 530 kilometres from French Guiana.
