The National Gallery Opens a Large-scale Exhibition of Paintings by the World-famous Slovenian Artist Ivana Kobilca
On Thursday, 21 June 2018, a large exhibition of works by the most famous Slovenian artist Ivana Kobilca, timed to the 100th anniversary of the National Gallery, was opened. The exhibition will run until 10 February 2019.
The exhibition features 140 paintings by Ivana Kobilca performed in various genres. In addition to the artist’s works, visitors to the National Gallery can get acquainted with the works by talented contemporaries of the great artist—Jurij Šubic, Jožef Petkovšek and Ferdo Vesela.
The National Gallery is located at 24, Prešernova Street, Ljubljana. Entrance fee: 7 EUR; pensioners, students, schoolchildren: 3 EUR; family ticket: 10 EUR.

Ivana Kobilca (1861–1926) made paintings in realism and impressionism. Meanwhile, she did not have a degree in art. Ivana Kobilca studied art in Ljubljana and Munich, worked in Vienna, Sarajevo, Berlin, Paris and Munich. She spent the last years of her life in Ljubljana. Among the most famous works of the artist are paintings called Summer (Poletje), Drinking Coffee (Kofetarica) and Dutchwoman (Holandka).
