The Faculty of Applied Social Studies at the University of Nova Gorica to Hold a Lecture Dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

The Faculty of Applied Social Studies at the University of Nova Gorica, in collaboration with the municipality of Nova Gorica, is holding a lecture called “Violence – A Pressing Social Problem or the Reality of Everyday Life.” The event is timed to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

The lecture will be held on 2 December 2019 at 02:00 p.m. It will be conducted by a teacher at the Faculty of Applied Social Studies and a specialist in study of violence, Dr Melita Zver Makovec. Venue: 19, Gregorčičevi, the Faculty of Applied Social Studies at the University of Nova Gorica. Free admission.

The lecture will contain basic knowledge about violence and its occurrence, especially in intimate relationships. The audience will listen about the dynamics of violence; the most common causes that can lead to violence; the reasons, for which victims continue to endure violence; the consequences and perpetrators of violence.
