Students and Graduates of Slovenian Educational Institutions Are Invited to Participate in the National Chess Universiade
The current students of all Slovenian higher and secondary vocational educational institutions, full-time employees, as well as graduates, who have completed or will complete their studies during the period from 1 January to 26 November 2019, are invited to participate in the National Chess Universiade of the 2019/2020 academic year. The event will take place in the premises of the Slovenian Chess Federation at 13 Bravničarjev Street, Ljubljana on Tuesday, 26 November 2019. The tournament is organised by the En Passant chess club. The director of the tournament is the international Grand Master Ana Srebrnič (031 376 897).
This tournament is a qualifying competition for the World Chess Universiade (to be held on 11–16 September 2020 in Bydgoszcz, Poland) and the European Universiade (to be held on 12–22 July 2020 in Belgrade, Serbia). The blitz tournament will be held in three categories: professional (men); professional (women); amateurs (players with a Slovenian national rating of 1350 or lower).
The National Chess Universiade will be held according to the FIDE rules for blitz tournaments, according to the Swiss system in 11 rounds; time control: 3 minutes + 2 seconds per game for each player.
Applications for participation are accepted until 05:00 p.m., 20 November 2019. Besides, additional registration will be open on the day of the tournament from 04:30 p.m. to 04:45 p.m. in the venue premises.
