Students and Graduates of Computer Science Programmes Are Invited to IZUM Hackathon 2019

On Saturday, 30 November 2019, the Institute of Information Sciences (17, Prešernova, Maribor) will hold IZUM Hackathon 2019 – the first hackathon aimed at developing a creative and simple Android application that reads the barcode and calls the REST web service (JSON). The application must be able to read barcodes, at least Code 93 and UPC A.

All developers, programmers, researchers, innovators in the field of Computer Science are invited to participate. The participation of students and graduates of programmes in Engineering and Natural Sciences is particularly welcomed. Each participant must have a laptop, which can be connected to the Internet via a wireless network and an Android smartphone.

The competition is held in the form of individual standings. Each participant must submit their own project in the form of a working application. Only adults are allowed to participate.

The best solutions will be financially rewarded:

  1. 1st place: 400 EUR
  2. 2nd place: 200 EUR
  3. 3rd place: 100 EUR

Each participant will receive a symbolic gift. Meals are provided by the organiser.

Maximum number of participants: 20. Applications for participation are accepted until Wednesday, 27 November 2019 or until the last available place.
