Slovenia, the European region of gastronomy 2021
Based on its gastronomic offers combined with the development of sustainable living and quality of life, Slovenia has been named the European Region of Gastronomy 2021. The country has been awarded by the International Institute for Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT).

It had to prove that Slovenia has developed sufficient gastronomy-related projects and programmes to merit holding the award. A panel of experts from different fields including tourism, culture, hospitality, and agriculture has awarded the country with the award.
