Slovene Peter John Stevens Becomes the Bronze Medallist of the European Swimming Championships at a Distance of 50 Metres

A Slovenian swimmer Peter John Stevens won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Glasgow (Scotland) at a distance of 50 metres (butterfly). With the result of 27.06 seconds, he set a personal record at this distance. This medal was the second in his professional career and the jubilee 100th award in the history of the Slovenian swimming sport.

The victory was predictably celebrated by the main favourite of the championships and the world record holder Briton Adam Peaty.

23-year-old Peter John Stevens hails from the settlement of Spodnje Pirniče (Gorenjska region). He is a member of the Triglav Kranj Club. The soonest important for him start will be the December World Cup in China. According to the athlete completing his studies in the United States, the main goal for him is the Summer Olympic Games of 2020 in Tokyo.
