Ljubljana, 30.11.2020 – The coronavirus has upended the world of higher education. In March, students all around the world were abruptly sent home and classes were moved online. During the year, 2TM faced key challenges, the sudden and steep decline of demand for education abroad, the closing of borders and embassies, and students, who were unable to graduate on time due to the situation.

However, despite the coronavirus pandemic, 2TM has adapted its business activities to the situation and kept developing this year. At Slovenian education institution for the year, 2020/2021 2TM has successfully enrolled 220 students, which is lower compared to the previous year and less than planned for this year. Considering the situation though this is highlighted by the company as an achievement.

Many prospective students and their parents changed their minds due to the health situation and either decided to study in their own country or have postponed their studies for another year. In the latter case, 2TM has already about 50 candidates waiting for the next year to get registered at education institutions in Slovenia. Additional issues were encountered with undergraduate students who were planning to start their master’s degree this year but were unable because they didn’t manage to graduate on time due to the situation.

Seeing a great need for language learning among students, 2TM organizes a range of Slovenian and English language courses aiming at international students who want to achieve Slovenian or English proficiency level skills for university purposes.
