Omelette (Frika)

Frika is a national Slovenian dish made of potato with cheese and eggs.

  1. 40 dkg potatoes
  2. 60 dkg cheese
  3. 5 dkg bacon or fat
  4. 4 eggs


  1. Peel potatoes, thinly slice, salt and fry them in hot fat or with chopped bacon.
  2. Crack raw eggs and pour on the chopped (optionally – grated) cheese. Add this mixture to the potatoes and mix.
  3. When the eggs thicken, flip the omelette over and fry on the other side.

Frika is served with polenta, bread or salad.
