Future transport hub in Ljubljana memorandum signed

Public and private investors, including the government, signed a memorandum in Ljubljana during December to cooperate in the construction of a EUR 3387 million passenger terminal in Slovenia’s capital.

Ljubljana has been waiting for this project for 18 years now. The goal is to build it in the shortest time possible, cost-efficiently and transparently as the project comprises of new railway station, along with appertaining track infrastructure and platforms, a coach station with a multi-storey car park and a commercial hub.

The government will invest in EUR 109 million, while part of public rail infrastructure will be subsidised from EU funds. The private investor will invest EUR 250 million and the railway operator EUR 28 million.
