Cuisine of Slovenia’s Regions: Chocolate Cookies with Orange
Cooking time: 30 minutes.
Ingredients (exit quantity: 27 pieces)
- 300 g flour,
- 0.5 tsp salt,
- 125 g butter,
- 75 g sugar,
- 10 g vanilla sugar,
- 1 egg,
- 0.5 tsp baking soda,
- 175 g grated black chocolate,
- 175 g grated milk chocolate,
- grated zest of 1 orange.
Melt the butter and mix with sugar until a foamy mass forms. Add vanilla sugar and mix well. Dissolve soda in one teaspoon of hot water and add to the mass. Add salt to flour and mix thoroughly. Add the whole egg to the mass and, stirring, add flour, chocolate and grated orange zest. Mix well.
Use two tablespoons or a small spoon for ice cream to form balls from the dough with the size of a walnut and put them on a baking sheet at a distance of at least 7 centimetres from each other.
Bake for 11 minutes in a preheated oven at 190°C.
After taking the cookies out of the oven, wait a while until they cool down.
You can also add hazelnuts, walnuts or almonds to taste.
