Astronomy Evening to Be Held at the University of Nova Gorica

The University of Nova Gorica, in collaboration with the Veno Pilon Ajdovščina Secondary School, Danilo Lokar Elementary School and Šturje Elementary School, organizes an Astronomy Evening timed to the 100th anniversary of the International Astronomical Union.

As part of the international project “100 Hours of Astronomy,” the event will be held in Ajdovščina, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Nova Gorica, on Friday, 11 January 2019. The Astronomy Evening will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a lecture by Prof. Dr. Andreje Gomboc “What Did We Known About the Cosmos 100 Years Ago and What Do We Know Today?” If the weather is favourable, astronomical observations will take place after the lecture.
