A Number of Slovenian Cities to Host the European Night of Researchers 2019 on 27 September
On 27 September 2019, Maribor, Ljutomer, Brežice, Koper and Izola will host the traditional annual event called European Night of Researchers. The main goal of the event is to popularise the professions of a researcher and a scientist and bring them closer to the general public, especially the youth.
Year by year, the European Night of Researchers raises awareness of the socially significant role of researchers, science and its impact on all spheres of human activity through a series of related events. At the same time, this project introduces the general public to a number of European and national funding programmes and other events dedicated to the launch and career development of researchers, scientific work, equipment and attractive working conditions.
In Slovenia, the event is organised by the Safe with Science Consortium presented by the University of Maribor, the University of Primorska and the Franc Miklošič Ljutomer Gymnasium.
Within the EU, 55 projects are being implemented in the context of the event. In general, the European Night of Researchers will be held in 371 European cities. It should be noted that in 2018, over 1.5 million people took part in this event.More details
